How we figure your ECPT handicap:
*ECPT has developed a fair system of figuring your handicap. We will use your last 10 scores and each time you
post an ECPT tournament score after your 10th score we will take off your first score posted.
*If you shoot a low net score the score will be used multiple times to figure your ECPT Hdcp.
-3 net score will be counted as 1 score.
-4 net score will be counted as 2 scores.
-5 net score will be counted as 3 scores.
-6 net score will be counted as 4 scores.
These scores will count as part of your last 10 scores so you are not penalized for a long period of time with a
*ECPT will adjust how much of your hdc. we use at each event to keep an easy course from changing your Hdcp.
*Slope rating from 105 to 120 we will use 80% of your hdcp.
*Slope rating from 121 to 135 we will use 90% of your hdcp.
*Slope rating from 136 and up we will use 100% of your hdcp.
*ECPT will play yardages from 6,300 (Seniors) to 6,700. We will also have a local rule of playing the ball down
unless the course is in bad shape. We will always try to book good courses but each course condition will
determine the decision of the tour director.
First time player rule:
*All players must go through our first time player rule of not allowing a new player to shoot too low net score.
After a player has 3 rounds in a 4 month period they have an ECPT handicap and can shoot up to 3 under par net without being adjusted. A new player is someone who has less than 3 ECPT 18 hole scores. A new player
can have a handicap from their host golf club or they can just tell us what they want to play with. Our system will not let them shoot too far under par without adjusting them back to even par or even over par based on how
low their net score is.
-A new player can shoot a net score of –2 without being adjusted.
-A new player shooting a net score of –3 will be adjusted to –2 under par.
-A new player shooting a net score of –4 will be adjusted to –1 under par.
-A new player shooting a net score of –5 will be adjusted to +1 over par.
-A new player shooting a net score of –6 or lower will be adjusted to +2 over par.
*Player may submit scorecards from their tournament they play in. Players must submit 3 scorecards to have ECPT figure their ECPT Hdcp. This will not void the first time player rule for that player. The new player will be
verified by tour director or local pro.
Adjustment for a player with ECPT Hdcp:
*Once 3 events are scored a player now has an ECPT Hdcp. The adjustments will be as follows to protect the
field from a low round.
*A ECPT player shooting a net score of -3 is ok.
*A ECPT player shooting a net score of -4 will be adjusted back to –3
*A ECPT player shooting a net score of -5 will be adjusted back to –2
*A ECPT player shooting a net score of -6 will be adjusted back to even
*A ECPT player shooting a net score of -7 or lower will be adjusted back to +2.
The equitable scoring system for figuring future ECPT handicaps only:
*ECPT will use a modified equitable scoring system to calculate handicaps. This will not allow a player to throw
away shots on one hole to protect their handicaps from being adjusted.
*A - 0 to 5.9 handicap can score a bogie on any hole, if this player scores a double bogie or more they will only
get a bogie figured to calculate their hdcp. after that event.
*A –6.0 to 11.9 hdcp. can score a double bogie on any hole.
*A 12.0 to 18.0 can score a triple bogie on any hole. If they score more shots on any hole they will only get
credit for that amount to help us figure future ECPT Hdcp. This does not apply to the event on that day.
*One day Entry fee $175 and two day Entry fee $395. Amatuer's entry fees: $150 one day events and $275 for
two day events (will be playing for gift cards up to $750 as allowed by the USGA). All entry fees can be paid by
registering on our web site. Credit cards can be used prior to the event and will have a 3% charge.
*We will use your handicap to figure all scores using the ECPT handicap system to protect anyone from
sandbagging. All players should read closely how our system works and choose the right handicap to play with.
ECPT tour players will be paid at the end of the last day of the event. Non tour members will be mailed a check.
